I have had a lot of people asking me when the session recording for my recent Dreamforce presentation Ready To Ride the Google Wave will be available on the internet. Good news is it now available on youtube , and slides may be downloaded in pdf . In addition, I have uploaded all the source code from both demonstrations (Sassy the Simple Wave, and Boohyah Mobile.) You will find some simple installation instructions contained within each zip but here is a quick run through of what you will need: Pre-Requisites: Download the Force.com for Google App Engine toolkit , and follow the instructions on how to set it up

One of the things that stuck me while watching the Chatter presentation and demo was the asynchronous and event driven nature of the collaboration taking place. As an example, any number of activities happening at your customer account – identification of a new opportunity, a project being completed, etc. can be treated as event that can be handled by the right people or system which in turn could trigger additional events and so on. Let us look at a few of the attributes of this style of interaction.

As many of us celebrate the beginning of the holiday season and the end of 2009, it’s a good opportunity to take a step back to see how far we’ve come as an industry in advancing cloud computing . Despite tough economic times this past year, we’ve seen that entrepreneurship and innovation still happen around significant technology and business models like cloud computing – something that may represent the most profound shift our industry has seen in decades . Our annual Dreamforce conference has become the de facto industry event for cloud computing and serves as an annual capstone for not only salesforce.com but our entire community of customers and partners too

Chester French is a rock band that has built an application on the Force.com platform. That’s compelling for the simple fact that when a rock and roll band develops its own application, you know that the market is seeing a far wider adoption than it has ever before.

That’s compelling for the simple fact that when a rock and roll band develops its own application, you know that the market is seeing a far wider adoption than it has ever before. Even more, it’s an important reminder of the advantage of building your own applications over complete reliance on a social network that does not give you access to the customer information that you have developed on the platform

Shortly before Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce conference started last Wednesday, the San Francisco Fire Department had locked the doors to Moscone Center to let the crush of bodies entering it disperse before letting in more attendees. I thought, are you kidding me?

During Dreamforce, we ran a little locally-produced signage application that displayed upcoming announcements, as well as the next set of sessions in the Force.com Zone . Except, it had a bug – it seemed to be showing the sessions for the following day.
